Western Kentucky University Lecture

wku.jpg
Tonight i’m lecturing at WKU on how to make it as an artist. I arrived this morning into Nashville and got a tour of the city by my guide, Kristina. Between the visit to a full-scale concrete replica of the Parthenon, a tour of Hatch Show Print and a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes at the Pancake Pantry, I’d say it was a pretty good day!

So, I’ll be here until Friday morning, and I’m really looking forward to sharing my trove of knowledge with these eager little minds.

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I’ve responded, and taken the time to comment here as well…I finally got the clarity of mind to write about your talk and visit, so I hope you’ll enjoy.

It was a sincere pleasure getting to hear your talk and meet you. Your work was moving enough, but meeting you in person impressed and inspired me more than I can say. Thank you very much for coming down to visit with us.

I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to make your demonstrations; I hadn’t been feeling well (perhaps eating too many of those delicious catering brownies). But thanks for doing those anyway.

Hope you had a safe trip, and keep in touch. Stop by whenever you pass through BG!-m

  • Hello, I was in Matt’s design class ( I did the popcorn poster). I just wanted to say we all enjoyed having you here and your idea of changing the angle of the popcorn container was great!! It’s still not finished but it is working so much better!! Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your new pieces!
