SXSW 2007

I made the trip to SXSW again this year, but this time with my fabulous intern Lauren. I really couldn’t have managed without her. While it was pretty slow for the first two days, it was still vital to have someone trustworthy to watch the booth or go and get a smoothie for me, etc. And when things picked up today, we were a first-class tag-team of Q/A fielders and Salesgirls. Man, we had it down!

The three day event is over now, and i’m almost sort of dizzy. I’m sitting on the Hostel floor typing and wondering how I’ve slept in a room with 15 other girls for the past few nights. Hostels are usually fine for the most part, but this one lacks some charm for sure.

I met a bunch of repeat customers from Flatstocks past. It was cool to hear stories about where my posters have ended up: in bathrooms, in nurseries, and as center-pieces to living room redesigns.

A few times shy fans approached the table. What a funny thing it was to be recognized. It’s a very manageable level of fame, and it feels great! Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed my work!
