Long necks

Here’s a new drawing I just did tonight. I re-read that awful Grain Edit comment section and got really heartbroken, so I decided to prove those damn nay-sayers wrong. It’s time to make some more animal drawings!

don’t re-read!!! although if it inspires awesomeness like this, then I guess its ok. But remember what Tina Fey said to all her internet haters… “Suck it!”

    Hey, Alice!

Thanks a lot!! I appreciate it. I know you’re right – no re-reading, but the urge is so strong to see what people write about my stuff. It’s too alluring; I gotta get over that.

Just close your eyes and think about all the great things people have said about your work! Your work never ceases to make me feel ridiculously happy, for one. Hugs!

Keep up the great work! And some words from a much wiser source…

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” – Buddha

Keep the faith and keep producing the work YOU wanna do! I totally relate to the hurt that is caused by ppl who accuse you of certain things when it comes to your work and it’s really hard not to let it get to you, esp. when it’s so hard to resist the urge to see what they say! But please just keep keeping on and kill ‘em with kindness, or in this case, great work!

  7. Eleanor, it’s a tough part of becoming part of the “public forum” not everybody is going to like your stuff. Unfortunately, the internet and the anonymity it provides, has given us a world full of Dr. Lauras.
But I wouldn’t worry, because the response was overwhelmingly positive! It’s tough because there can be 100 positive comments, but the one or two negative ones tend to stick out.
That said, I really appreciate the fact that you wear your love of Charley Harper’s work on your sleeve. I hate it when creative-type people try to hide their influences to seem more creative or something. Keep up the amazing work, I’ll have to order some more posters soon, those angler fish look awesome.
