Beautiful Bird of the week this time around is the lovely Victoria Crowned Pigeon. I’m thinking that this has got to be one of the most unusual birds around. It’s rather large (about the size of a big chicken), blue, and has red eyes. Not to mention that killer crest of feathers. Of course, it lives in New Guinea. Don’t they all?

I gotta say America’s Next Top Model is the most fun show out there!! What could be better than lovely ladies getting makeovers and having photo shoots with bits of catty drama interspersed? I started watching about a year ago when Mollie Sue, a fellow former-tampanian and Ybor city orpheum-goer, got onto the show. Jenny (the best friend) and I would cheer her on and weep with her as she rose and fell on cycle 5 (i think). When she was finally given the boot we had to console ourselves in the bosoms of the other gorgeous gals. We’ve been hooked ever since.

My friend and i were ogling this adorable couch on CB2.com. I think it’s very stylish!! and for a couch, it’s not too expensive.

Here are some really cute table legs from Ikea. They’re reminiscent of some of the table legs that i’ve seen at anthropologie and other shops. you can’t beat them for $10!!

Hey, here’s a new image i worked on this weekend. A polar bear is perfect for the upcoming season, and i’m thinking of making this a charity print also.

I’m watching The Life of Birds right now and was reminded of a really strange bird, the hoatzin (HOE-at-zin). As chicks, the little hoatzin have tiny claws that help them climb back up to the safety of their nests.

Tonight i’m lecturing at WKU on how to make it as an artist. I arrived this morning into Nashville and got a tour of the city by my guide, Kristina. Between the visit to a full-scale concrete replica of the Parthenon, a tour of Hatch Show Print and a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes at the Pancake Pantry, I’d say it was a pretty good day!

So, I’ll be here until Friday morning, and I’m really looking forward to sharing my trove of knowledge with these eager little minds.

That’s right, the first ever Faerie Con was held this past weekend at the Philly Convention Center. What a weird world it was, but i have to say that Faeries are a very welcoming and sweet folk. Do you believe in faeries? Let these pics convince you.
